Desk Job Neck Pain in Keller, TX: 3 Fixes You Can Do Today

If you work at a computer, you probably know the feeling: tight neck, stiff upper back, headaches that creep in by afternoon.

The good news is you don't need a perfect setup to start feeling better. You need a few simple habits that reduce strain and help your body stack better.

If you have numbness/tingling into the arm, weakness, severe headaches, dizziness, or symptoms after an accident, get evaluated promptly.

Why desk work causes neck pain

Most desk-related neck pain is a combination of two things:

  • Too much time in one position
  • Too much forward head + rounded shoulders

The fix isn't to “sit perfectly” all day. It's to move more often and reduce the worst angles.

3 fixes you can do today

Fix #1: Use a 45-minute movement timer

Set a timer for 45 minutes. When it goes off, stand up and move for 60 seconds.

Try: 10 shoulder rolls + 5 slow neck turns each direction + a short walk to the water bottle.

Fix #2: Bring the screen to you (not your head to the screen)

If your screen is low and far away, your head will drift forward.

Quick setup: raise the screen, pull the keyboard closer, and sit so your ribs are stacked over your hips.

Fix #3: Do a 2-minute chest + upper-back reset

Tight chest + stiff upper back = shoulders forward.

  1. Doorway pec stretch: 300 seconds each side
  2. Wall angels: 810 slow reps
  3. Chin tucks: 68 gentle reps

Remember: the best posture is the posture you move out of.

If your neck pain keeps returning, let's find the real driver.
